Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air has announced the launch of its inaugural summer service to Malaga Costa del Sol in South Spain.

The Gulf Air’s flight GF021 was welcomed into Spanish airport with a water cannon salute and, upon arrival, a celebratory event was held at the airport that saw the attendance of various dignitaries, Costa del Sol Tourism Authority, a number of local media and travel industry representatives, alongside airport officials.

Before departing from Bahrain International Airport, passengers were handed commemorative gifts as the airline celebrated the very first flight from the kingdom to Spain, said the statement from Bahraini airline.

The seasonal flights are operated by Gulf Air’s flagship aircraft Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which features 26 Falcon Gold seats and 256 economy class seats; all equipped with latest comfort technology and inflight entertainment system featuring blockbuster movies and rich content selection, it stated.
