Egyptair will kick off flights to Qatar starting next week, the airline confirmed following Egypt’s decision to reopen its airspace to the Gulf state.

The daily flight from Cairo to Doha will start on January 18, 2021, with tickets selling at a discount, the national carrier said on Thursday.

“Egyptair decided to apply a 20 percent discount on flight tickets from Doha to Cairo to be purchased until end of January and travel until February 10, 2021,” the airline said.

The first flight after about three years will take off from Cairo at 9 am and arrive in Doha at 12:55 pm, local time. The return journey is scheduled to take off from Doha at 2:10 pm and arrive in Cairo at 4:50 pm.

Egypt decided to re-establish its travel links to Qatar following an agreement to lift the blockade on the Gulf nation.

Egypt and its allies in the Gulf region imposed an embargo on Qatar in 2017.

The three GCC states, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain, have already confirmed the reopening of their airspace to Qatar.
