Cairo - Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla announced the extension of the closing date of 2021's first international tender for petroleum exploration and production in 24 blocks to the end of September as requested by several foreign companies.

This is the first digital international tender to be launched on Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG), El-Molla pointed out in a statement on Tuesday.

The bid, launched by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), covers 24 blocks in the Gulf of Suez, the Western Desert, and the Mediterranean Sea.
