The Czech Republic will resume tourism flights to Egypt starting from the beginning of October, according to Jan Fulik,Ambassadorof the Czech Republic to Egypt.

Fulik said that flights will operate between the Czech capital, Prague, and the Egyptian Red Sea resort cities of Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada and Marsa Alam. He added that Czech tourists have already started making reservations for these trips on various booking websites.

The Ambassadors remarks came on the sidelines of his recent visit to Egypts Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh. Also present on the trip, which took place to mark World Tourism Day, were: Egypts Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani; Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar Enaba; Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad; Minister of State for Information Osama Heikal; and 30 Ambassadors to Egypt.

Fulik said the decision to resume tourism flights between the two countries comes as a result of a visit made by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani to Prague in August.

During the ministers visit, he undertook discussions with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babi? and a number of government officials, to strengthen cooperation and increase the number of tourists coming to Egypt.

For his part, Al-Anani said that he appreciated the efforts made by Egypts Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding tourism, especially those made by Egypts Ambassador to Prague Said Hindam.

Al-Anani reassured all ambassadors during the visit to Sharm El-Sheikh that Egypt is undertaking the best precautionary measures throughout its tourist governorates, to preserve the health of visitors.

Egypt suspended international flights at all airports on 19 March, in efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with flights only resuming on 1 July.
