The Environment Authority (EA) has rescued seven stranded dolphins in the governorate of Dhofar.

A statement issued by EA said, ‘The Directorate General of Environment in Dhofar Governorate dealt with a report about eight Risso’s dolphin stranded, which washed up on the coast of the Wilayat of Hasik.’

‘Seven of them were rescued in good health and returned them to the sea, while the eighth one died. The EA’s specialists took samples and measurement to conduct laboratory tests and analyses.’

Risso’s dolphins, also known as Grampus, are one of the larger members of the dolphin family.
