Bahrain - Roadworks are currently underway to provide a sewage network for Block 324 in Juffair as part of a larger road improvement plan.

Works Ministry roads projects and maintenance director Sayed Bader Alawi said the project formed part of infrastructure developments in the area.

The plan includes building a pumping station and adding a main line of pipes for wastewater to cross Al Fateh Highway.

It will also allow properties in the area to connect to the sewage network, following the recently completed implementation of a sewage conveyor line from Juffair to Ghuraifa.

Mr Alawi said that the second part of the project would include reconstructing 3km of roads in the area and creating an integrated rainwater drainage network, in addition to the work of transporting and protecting services in the area.

The project also includes asphalting roads and paving sidewalks with bricks, providing safe spaces for pedestrians and a path for cycling, as well as constructing service roads.

Other elements include parking spaces, improving the level of lighting, installing traffic and warning signs on the roads and laying irrigation lines, as well as implementing ‘beautification works’ in the area.
