Bank ABC has donated $2 million in support of the relief efforts in Türkiye and Syria after a devastating earthquake struck the two countries.

The donation will support the ongoing relief and recovery operations in the affected areas through select local and international non-profit organisations actively working for the cause.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, Bank ABC is committed to supporting its communities,” said Bank ABC Group chairman Saddek Omar El Kaber.

“In the face of this devastating tragedy, we hope this contribution will help towards immediate humanitarian relief and recovery efforts as well as rebuilding the lives of those impacted. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Türkiye and Syria.”

Bank ABC, incorporated as Arab Banking Corporation, is an international bank headquartered in Manama. It has been present in Türkiye since 2005 and remains ‘committed to helping communities in need’ across its network, the bank added.

“These challenging times warrant looking beyond borders and addressing the immense humanitarian catastrophe that is unfolding in Türkiye and Syria; calling for a collaborated effort from the international community,” said Bank ABC acting group chief executive Sael Al Waary.

“Amidst the rising death toll, we witness the resilience of the human spirit that perseveres through the odds and strives for survival. It is our duty to enable the recovery and rebuilding of these communities.”
