Muscat: With a cost of OMR 9 million, a contract has been signed between the Ministry of Transport Communications and Information Technology and Galfar Engineering and Contracting to repair damages caused by cyclone Shaheen on Al Batinah highway.

"We are pleased to inform our esteemed shareholders that the Ministry of Transport Communications and Information Technology has awarded Galfar the contract for road reinstatement works and repair of damages caused by cyclone Shaheen on Al Batinah highway. The value of this project is approximately OMR 9 million, with an execution period of 16 months including mobilisation period," Galfar company said in a statement.

"The award of this project comes within the national efforts aimed at handling the impacts of tropical cyclone Shaheen on the main Al Batinah Road, " the company added.
