Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has signed seven agreements for the masterplan design of future cities in line with the Oman National Spatial Strategy, Oman News Agency tweeted in Arabic.

The agreements were signed for the cities of Salalah, Bawsher, Sohar, Nizwa, Haima, and for the development of the city centre of Ibri.

The smart sustainable future cities in Salalah, Nizwa, Suhar, and Muscat would be spread over a total area of five million square metres with 10,000-30,000 housing units, and accommodate 50,000 to 130,000 people according to media reports.
