Dubai-based real estate developer Select Group announced on Wednesday that the first concrete pour of its ultra-luxury project, Six Senses Residences The Palm, in Dubai took place last week.

The company said in a press statement that Sky Villas were the focus of the first pour, which included the raft and basement slab.

An estimated 3,500 cubic metres of concrete was used in the continuous pour, which lasted 24 hours, with approximately 620 tonnes of steel which form the concrete raft for the first stage pour zone.

The statement noted that the second phase of the basement is also under preparation, with scheduled pouring within the coming weeks.

Spread over 1.2 million square feet (sq. ft) on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, the Six Senses Residences development comprises Penthouses, duplex Sky Villas, nine Signature Beachfront Villas, Six Senses Hotel, and Six Senses Place, a 60,000 sq. ft. premium wellness and leisure facility.

The project’s lead consultant is BSBG and the main contractor is iBUILD Construction.

In January 2023, Select Group had announced that it awarded over 3 billion UAE dirhams ($817 million) in construction contracts for three projects including Six Senses Residences The Palm. With construction underway, the project is on track for its scheduled completion in 2024, the company had stated.

Select Group has also awarded main contracts for its Peninsula Master Development in Business Bay. China State Construction Engineering Corporation (Middle East) is main contractor for the Peninsula One and Peninsula Two towers; ECC Group is the contractor for Peninsula Three, and Al Basti & Muktha (ABM) has been awarded the main contract for Peninsula Five, The Signature Collection, and the flagship Jumeirah Living Business Bay, designed by Killa Design.
