480 metre squared 3D display steers residents and visitors of Dubai towards world-class entertainment
20 April 2014, UAE - The excitement of Yas Island is now in Dubai. For the next 12 months, residents and visitors to Dubai will be able to enjoy the much loved attractions from Yas Island's Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and YasWaterworld while realizing how close the world-class destination really is - straight ahead!
Travellers on Sheikh Zayed Road will surely not miss the city's firstdestination 3D billboard display towering over Dubai between Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Mall. The 3D display showcases the most iconic rides in the region, from the world's fastest rollercoaster, Formula Rossa, to YasWaterworld'sDawwama, the world's largest tornado ride, and features agiant arrow pointing the way to Yas Island and close proximity to Dubai.
Ms. Jida Itani, Senior Coordinator of Yas Island Destination Management, commented on the display saying: "The creation of this innovative fixturewas motivated by the desire to further encourage the visitors and residents of Dubai to look next door for their big adventure. This display is part of Yas Island's commitment to further increase local tourism within the UAE and to promote Yas Island with friends, family and business travellers also enjoying Dubai."
The creative tailor-made 3D display stemmed from the recent 33% growth in tourism in Abu Dhabi from residents of the UAE over the past year. Figures provided by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (TCA) show that UAE residents are now shifting away from the traditional overseas vacations, and interested in taking vacationsclose to home, motivating Yas Island to further engage its most important audience.
It is anticipated that more than 450,000 vehicles will pass the unique 3D display each day, presenting an unparalleled opportunity to engage the young and young at heart. The 3D display, visible from more than a kilometre away, is 12 metres high and 40 metres long and measures 480 square metres in total.
Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi is the UAE's first mega waterpark. The park offers 43 rides, slides and attractions that will thrill the entire family. Visitors will experience fun and adventure on rides and attractions never seen before in waterparks, such as the world's longest, fastest tornado waterslide, the region's first looping waterslide and the world's first interactive water and laser rollercoaster.
