New WorkCentre 7675 leverages Web-based development platform for workflow, reaches speeds of 75 ppm

Dubai, UAE - 3rd September 2007- Xerox MEA is accelerating office productivity with a new and enhanced multifunction system that can leverage software applications to make work easier.

The WorkCentre® 7675 advanced color multifunction system is Xerox's newest and fastest products that print, copy, scan and fax while leveraging the company's Extensible Interface Platform (EIP). EIP is based on Web standards and allows software developers to quickly and easily create applications tailored to address specific business challenges. People can access document management software that is personalized to meet their needs from the touch screen of the device.

"This new WorkCentre system combined with EIP represents a new era for the multifunction system. It shatters the perception that an office MFP is just a piece of hardware," said Roy Harding, vice president, Xerox Office Group for Developing Markets Operations. "The system adapts to the way you work - instead of the other way around."

The WorkCentre 7675 prints and copies at speeds up to 50 pages per minute in color and 75 ppm in black and white.  Boasting a print resolution up to 2400 x 2400 dpi, the system can produce high-end color prints as well as everyday business documents quickly and cost effectively. It can also scan and fax, and it includes tools to manage color costs, improve document workflow and keep documents secure. The product is equipped with Xerox Standard Accounting, free software that enables businesses to track usage, set limits for users and manage costs.

The WorkCentre 7675 is available with an optional light-production finisher that offers increased stapling capacity, an interposer for post-process sheet insertion, a hole punch and optional C-, Z- and engineering fold.  The finisher will also be available for Xerox's existing WorkCentre 7655 and 7665 color multifunction systems, which have been upgraded to work with EIP and offer new features such as the ability to scan searchable PDFs, LAN fax and support for Xerox Secure Access Unified ID System™.

Xerox's advanced MFP security features protect the document, the device and the transmission path, and are available on all new WorkCentre multifunction systems. An Encrypted Disk and Image Overwrite feature deletes images from the hard drive automatically upon job completion or on demand.

Other software from Xerox and its partners provides the ability to access common business forms directly from the MFP, print on demand from document repositories, and much more. For example, people can preview newly scanned documents on the MFP's display for accuracy and then store them in Xerox DocuShare®, Microsoft Corp. SharePoint or Windows folders, without the need for a pre-defined template. The MFP's touch screen can then be used to browse and print those documents.
