DocuColor 2240 and DocuColor 1632 aimed at the region's medium and large enterprises

Dubai, January 07, 2002: Xerox Middle East has launched DocuColor 2240 and DocuColor 1632, its latest fast, affordable colour printing solutions aimed at the region’s medium and large enterprises. These two new colour multifunction systems will deliver the low costs, fast print speeds and image quality that will accelerate the migration from black-and-white to colour in the office and among quick-print shops. The systems print, copy and scan, expanding options for managing colour documents in paper and electronic form.

“Today, the added value of colour is rapidly becoming a necessity and in the current market scenario, the overall quality of the document is as important as the content itself.  Research has shown that colour can reduce search time be as much as 80%, increase comprehension by 73% and improve brand recognition by up to 80%.  Our new products offer excellent productivity and easy to use features, for copying and printing both colour and black and white. The company today has new offerings that are helping customers worldwide to be successful and produce results that help their bottom line,” said Keith Taylor, Regional General Manager, Xerox.

The two new systems share the same easy to use, high-productivity features, with print speeds of 22 colour and 40 black-and-white pages per minute on the DocuColor 2240 and 16 colour and 32 black-and-white on the DocuColor 1632.

"In the past producing a colour report or presentation would set you apart, but today's office professionals are so accustomed to colour's added value that it's rapidly becoming a necessity," said Ayman Mattar, Regional Product Manager, Xerox. "The DocuColor 2240 and 1632 will accelerate this trend by providing excellent colour quality and productive print and copy speeds. Our goal is to lead the way to better work and help customers to be more efficient and effective with our systems, solutions and service. The launch of these products goes another step to achieving our goal," he added.

The latest breakthroughs in image quality are supported by the products' use of chemically produced Emulsion Aggregation (EA) toner, developed at the Xerox Research Centre of Canada. EA technology delivers excellent colour consistency, contributing to more automated colour management. EA technology also produces less waste than most toners and is more environmentally friendly.

Xerox spends US$1billion annually to bring state-of-the-art solutions to its customers. As a result, Xerox products consistently provide high performance solutions   enhancing the customer’s productivity and increasing profitability.

The DocuColor 2240 and 1632 offers print, copy, and scan features in one cost-efficient package. Productivity features such as the Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder (DADF), Electronic Pre-Collation, 512 MB of memory, and a fast-embedded Xerox print controller are all standard equipment. All this, plus Xerox’s environmentally friendly Emulsion Aggregation toner, makes the DocuColor 2240 and 1632 the ideal solution for office printing and document management needs.
