Tally to offer region-specific features including multi-currency accounting
Regional software product leader Tally Solutions announced the launch of Tally 9 Financial Accounting and Inventory Management software with multi-lingual capability, in the Middle East at GITEX 2006 in Dubai.
Tally 9, which will target the Middle East and North African (MENA) regions, supports entry of data in all unidirectional languages and scripts, concurrently. Users can work on the software to perform common functions, by choosing from the built-in vernacular interfaces that are available. Interfaces in additional languages are progressively being added to the software.
Ms Rokiah Ahamed, President, Tally Solutions, who had flown over from Singapore for the launch, said: "We are privileged to announce the Middle East launch of Tally 9, and also confirm that the Arabic-enabled version of Tally 9 will be available in the first quarter of 2007. Tally 9 already incorporates several languages and it is a great honor to share this innovative feature with consumers."
In addition to these region-specific features, Tally 9 incorporates Multi-currency Accounting, Expatriate Employee Processing in Payroll, POS invoicing, Job Costing, Calculation of Landed Cost, Tracking of Delivery Cycle, and Flexible Financial Periods. The software also has the Multiple Decimal Points option.

Several features available in Tally 7.2 have been improved on in Tally 9 to offer easier navigation and comfort. Tally 9 has also been revamped with a new and improved color scheme for the international packaging.
A special promotion for Tally 9 was initiated yesterday at the GITEX Shopper and Consumer Electronics Show 2006 at Airport Expo Dubai. During the weeklong retail extravaganza, a promotion titled "Tally Power Pack Offer - New Technology at Old Prices" is being organised by the company for end-users. Between the 18th and 24th of November 06, customers can get a discount of US$126 (28%) on both Tally 9 Single-User and Tally 9 Multi-User versions.
During the Shopper period Tally 9 is being offered at the Tally 7.2 price to end users - i.e. Tally 9 Single-User is available at US$324 and Tally 9 Multi-User at US$774. The offer is valid only during the seven days of GITEX Shopper, inside the venue (Airport Expo Dubai) and outside in the participating outlets, for users in the UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.
