40 Percent of Businesses Leaders Say Interpreting Data is Biggest Obstacle: Cisco

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - February 11, 2015 - Connected mega events such as World Expo 2020 and Dubai Smart City are forcing Middle East organizations to adopt to the massive influx of Big Data, Cisco announced today in the build-up to Cisco Connect UAE 2015.

As technological innovation drives forward the Internet of Everything era, organizations will see increasing data from wearable and mobile devices, and millions of sensors in Dubai Smart City.

The region is well-placed to leverage connectivity, as Middle East and Africa will post the world's fastest mobile data traffic growth, according to Cisco's Visual Networking Index, 2013-2018.

Demonstrating the need for Big Data solutions in the region, in a recent Cisco study, 40 percent of business leaders cited data interpretation as the biggest obstacle to delivering actionable insights.

Connected stadiums could utilize data collected at sporting events to enhance the fan experience with personalized concessions, service providers could tailor Wi-Fi pricing plans for visitors, and civil defense personnel could use video collaboration to enhance safety with CCTV.

Anticipating the need for UAE organizations to better understand their customers, and for service providers to increase efficiency, Cisco recently announced its Connected Analytics for the Internet of Everything, helping customers access data-backed valuable information, predictions, and trends.

Big Data will be a key focus at Cisco Connect UAE 2015 on 18 February 2015 in Dubai.
