Doha, 26 October 2011 - W Hotel & Residences, coolest style icon for Doha, is welcoming the Starwood Hotel Group's very own SPG TV film crew to Qatar from 27th October to 3rd November.
SPGTV (Starwood Preferred Guest TV) will be filming W Doha's passion points for those in the know - hand-picking the entertainment, design, fashion and epicurean delights to be had in Doha's favourite hang-outs.

A W Insider will give their take on the local scene and the trendiest places to try in town. Viewers of SPGTV in the rooms and suites of 1,000 Starwood Hotels all over the world, will be amazed at what Doha can offer the savvy traveler. They will follow Doha's first fashion blog, Nomad, on its tour of the best local design shops. Local fashion designers will talk about what inspired their creativity and their collections will be on view. SPGTV will feature extravagant after parties at W Doha and showcase DJ Bouji from W's fabled DJ Lab tour, who will be in town.
Katara Cultural Village will be one of the many locations where the film is being shot. Nestled by the sea, this historical architectural landmark embodies Qatar's history and ancestry. Bringing the future and the past into the present, Katara will appeal to viewers as a triumph of design. Then the camera will turn on the Souq Waqif, enchanting visitors with its snapshot of past heritage and how local buildings used to look. Down to the waterfront, the film will then pan to the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, a shimmering white shrine to art by the sea.
Fashion next, a tour of the luxurious Pearl - Qatar, with its abundant open-air promenades, water features and sidewalk seating for dining alfresco, to see its glamorous indoor designer shopping plazas. Sunset sipping cocktails on board a luxury yacht will be an iconic image that sums up Qatar's most breath-taking landscape.
Luxury brands in fashion and food will feature in this film guide as a key to Qatar's future industries. A visit to VCUQ (Virginia Commonwealth University Qatar) will reveal where the fashion designers of the future are being groomed for success. Even W Doha's own W by Night fashion Collection by award-winning VCU graduate, Selina Farrooqui, will be on show.
