Volvo Cars transports the Glitz and Glamour of Hollywood to Dubai's red carpet
13th December 2007: The 4th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is in full throttle with the likes of Hollywood celebrities- Sharon Stone, George Clooney and Gloria Estefan- gracing Madinat Jumeirah with their presence. The 1st day of the festival kick started with a fleet of Volvo Cars driving on to the red carpet, it was a pleasant surprise and the perfect opportunity for DIFF to announce Volvo Cars as their Official transport sponsor for the 4th DIFF.
The countdown to the new year sees Volvo Cars extending its boundaries from its strictly safe and mature policy towards a trendier realm. "I would have never imagined Sharon Stone and George Clooney to be escorted down Sheikh Zayed road with an entourage of Volvo Cars! I use to associate Volvo Cars with a more sedated crowd" commented one young film enthusiast at the opening ceremony. Having won the Best Luxury Saloon of the year award for the S80 at the Car ME awards earlier this year, Volvo Cars Marketing Manager Roula Beiruty is confident that Volvo is making the right move "This is the first time that Volvo has participated in an event associated with the Silver Screen in the Middle East. Volvo is thoroughly enjoying being part of the limelight at DIFF and is glad to have been given this fantastic opportunity".

Although DIFF is refusing to reveal celebrity schedules to the public, many have spotted familiar faces cruising around town in the new Volvo S80s and XC90s. Earlier this week George Clooney, Sharon Stone and Paolo Coelho, author of the award winning novel The Alchemist, were all spotted mounting into Volvo Cars at the Dubai Airport. Keep a look out for a glimpse of stardom this week, 'OC' beauty Rachel Bilson and Burlesque dancer Dita Von Tesse will be traveling across town in fleets of Volvo cars.
