Ordinary landline and Skype calls can now be made from one cordless phone
USRobotics, a Platinum Equity company, has announced its newest Skype Certified products - the USR9630 cordless phone for Skype and the USR9631 accessory handset. The USR9630 base station connects to both a traditional phone line and an available USB port on a PC running Skype Internet calling software to make and receive Skype calls and ordinary telephone calls from the USR9630 or USR9631 handset - eliminating the need for both Skype and PSTN phones in an office or home.
In addition to the handset included in the USR9630, the USR9630 base station also allows up to three additional USR9631 accessory handsets to be connected to the same telephone line. The new phones will soon be available across Middle East markets through USRobotics dealers.

The USR9630 cordless phone for Skype and USR9631 accessory handset integrate seamlessly with Skype to connect users to the Skype community, which now numbers more than 113 million registered users worldwide. It allows users to make free calls through the Skype software to other Skype users, and supports low cost calls with non-Skype users via the popular SkypeIn and SkypeOut services.

In addition, both phones support Skype Caller ID and telephone company Caller ID and feature an integrated echo cancellation and noise reduction technology that delivers life-like conversation quality. Characterized by a full-duplex operation that eliminates conversation clipping, the easy-to-install phones also support Windows 2000 and XP operating systems and are compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports.
