UNIQUE DOORS CAN RESIST FIRE FOR 20 MINUTES, DISTORTIONS AND ABUSE

BULLET-RESISTANT LAMINATED DOORS BEING LAB TESTED FOR 2005 LAUNCH

DUBAI, DECEMBER 26, 2004: NU-Tec Industries Inc., one of the largest manufacturers of laminated doors and closet door systems in the US, has announced the launch of the fire-resistant high-pressure laminated doors in the UAE and five other Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC) states.

Through a sole distribution tie-up with the Dubai-based Ainul Huda General Trading LLC, the 20-year-old company - annual sales of $12 to $15 million within the US - has made its first foray into foreign markets.

A member of the US National Association of Housing Rebuilding Officials (NAHRO), the Indiana-based NU-Tec's state-of-the-art manufacturing plan has a production capacity of over 240,000 doors a year.

The company's doors are approved by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and extensively used in public and private sector-funded commercial and residential projects across the US.

Mr. A Huda Khan, Chairman of Ainul Huda General Trading LLC, said: " The 20-minute fire resistant doors for bedrooms, bathrooms and entrances are unique to the market and fits to the emerging demands for a more secure and safe construction-related materials.  We can provide on demand any size door for bedroom, bathroom and entrance apartment door prepared by the factory."

He projects a huge demand for the new line of high-pressure laminated doors given the competitive pricing and strict quality standards maintained by the manufacturer.

The doors are cold-pressed for 40 minutes at a minimum of 70 degree Celsius and the adhesive bond used in their making have been positively tested by Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc (WJE), an Illinois-based company.

He said: "The rigorous testing and quality standards followed by NU-Tec ensures that the doors are free from any distortions either in shape or color. The fire resistance of the doors is the product of furnace testing done at the manufacturing plant."

There are plans to set-up exclusive Ainul Huda retail outlets in the UAE and the rest of the region for displaying and marketing of the Nu-Tec line of quality and unique products.

Mr. Imran Khan, General Manager, Ainul Huda General Trading LLC , said the doors are available in sizes up to 48 inches in width and up to 96 inches high.

NU-Tec Industries is presently lab testing another unique product, a bullet-resistant laminated door that helps make commercial and residential units more secure and safe. The 1 inch doors have undergone Level 3 Ballistics testing in the US and will be launched after the completion of the entire pre-manufacturing process.

The company has lined-up a series of workshop and presentations for the trade in the region in the coming months to introduce the product range, explain the technical details in addition to industry networking.

The company considers the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to be the most potential growth markets for the NU-Tec products, which, it claims, are far ahead of its Far East Asian competitors in terms of quality, durability and pricing.

The current boom in the construction industry in the region is increasing with government spending set to continue over the next ten years on the creation of new infrastructure projects and office and residential accommodation.

Local market demand for building products is growing rapidly due to the construction of diversified commercial, residential and institutional buildings.
