Dubai, UAE (September 11, 2012)

The University of Dubai (UD) recently organized the New Student Orientation Program called Bidayaat, designed especially for the new students registered to begin the Fall semester 2012 and help them start their undergraduate experience with ease and comfort. The event was attended by UD staff and faculty who familiarized the students with University policies, facilities, clubs, activities and the different departments such as the Students Services Department, College of Information Technology, College of Business Administration and the Center for Management & Professional Development (CMPD).

The program provided rich information about academic majors, registration, scholarships, careers, health care, sports, social activities and student groups. The new students were also given the chance to tour the campus and visit the President's Office and met their academic advisors, discussed their study plan, learned about the offered courses and received their ID cards.

Amina El Marzak, Director of Student & Alumni Affairs, said:  "It is a good opportunity for students to get familiar with University of Dubai community, meet faculty, staff members and potential classmates. In addition, they will get the chance to receive answers to all their questions."

Ahmed Fares, Head of Students Services Department, said: "We are very happy to welcome all of you and are very grateful that you have selected UD to begin a new chapter in your life, the university life! Our university has international accreditations for both colleges so UD degrees are recognized globally and provide great potentials of for their holders, locally and internationally. We are here to help you and facilitate all your university life and help you to achieve the best marks and become a successful person."

I have enrolled at UD because some of my friends have recommended it to me. They have given good feedback about its programs, the teaching staff and the efficient services. Also, I am aware that graduates of UD have a good chance to find a job in the market because the courses offered are internationally accredited."
