Varsity intends to offer scholarships to deserving pupils
Dubai, UAE (September 2, 2010) - The University of Dubai (UD), a prestigious university in the UAE established by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recently held a colourful event on the occasion of student registration for the fall semester 2010 at its campus. The students began their undergraduate experience with a very interesting program called - Bidayaat.
The Bidayaat sessions began at 10:00am. The sessions were very rich and beneficial as they talked about academic majors, registration, scholarships, careers, counseling, health care and other activities such as sport activities, social activities and clubs. Students got the chance to meet their academic advisors, discussed their study plan, learned more about the offered courses and received their ID cards.
Farah Al Shaibani, coordinator of the student orientation program, said: "It was a good opportunity for students to get acquainted with the UD community, meet faculty, staff members and classmates. In addition, they got the chance to receive answers for all their questions."
The Bidayaat program was open to students coming directly from high school, transferring from other universities and non-traditional students. Also parents were encouraged to attend the sessions in order to understand their children's transition to university life and got familiar with UD and its system.
The program was organized by the Department of Student Services in collaboration with a group of volunteer students, faculty and staff.
