Abu Dhabi, 22nd November 2012:  The United Arab Emirates' best young innovators, thinkers and designers are invited to submit their creative and unique STEM concepts with the launch of the Innovative Development Centre for Educational Aptitude's IDEA 2012 Student Educational Exhibition.

The fifth edition of IDEA's highly popular Student Educational Exhibition (IDEA Exhibition) is held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It will be held on December 21 and 22, 2012 at the Higher Colleges of Technology's Khalifa City Women's College, in Khalifa City A.

Participation in the IDEA Exhibition is free and it provides an unparalleled platform for students to participate and demonstrate their career-focused skills, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and achieve worthy recognition. Students are invited to form teams of three students, select an academic topic of their choice and enroll for participation.  All student entrants will receive Participation Certificates.

Entry registrations for IDEA Exhibition 2012 can be made online www.ideauae.org and the last date for enrollment is December 10, 2012.

IDEA Exhibition awards will be presented to the best performing teams in the following categories:

  • Best Innovative Theme;

  • Best Informative Exhibition;

  • Best Presentation

"This is a wonderful opportunity to tap into the hidden talents and showcase the amazing prowess of youngsters. Competitions such as these help develop the minds of youngsters and engage them in creativity and innovation," Mr. K. Sathianathan, President of IDEA said.

IDEA, an Abu Dhabi based non-profit voluntary organization with a mission to nurture creativity and talents in the youth, designed this program to provide students of Grades 7 to 12 from schools across the UAE a unique opportunity to demonstrate creativity, talents and innovation in science, technology, engineering and similar fields of educational interest to the youth.

The IDEA Exhibition Opening Ceremony will be held at 4pm on December 21, with the award presentation to take place on December 22 at 7.30 pm in the HCT Khalifa City Women's College.
