Tristar won the RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety for five consecutive years
Dubai, UAE; July 17, 2016: Dubai-based integrated liquid logistics provider Tristar has won the UK-based Occupational Health and Safety Award for five consecutive years and was presented the Gold Medal Award by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The company was also given the Gold Award for Fleet Safety for its road safety records and safe driving culture during the awarding ceremonies held recently at Hilton Birmingham Metropole in the UK.
Following the principles of the RoSPA National Safe Driving Awards Scheme, the awards given to Tristar were judged on verifiable historical consistent safe performance data of accidents and the identification implementation of an effective, cohesive corporate road risk management program.
"Thank you for the team work and seeking your continued support towards achieving Goal Zero," expressed Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne. Earlier this year, On March 1, Tristar celebrated its annual Safety Day with the theme: Zero is Possible.
The head office in Dubai, together with most of its 15 overseas locations, simultaneously conducted a town hall meeting with customers, suppliers, regulators, corporate neighbors and community institutions wherein various safety issues were discussed.
Mr. Mayne gave the closing remarks by encouraging the staff to further promote the safety culture of the company. He explained that the underlying reason why Tristar was established in 1998 was to become a partner of choice for national and international oil companies by matching their high health, safety and environmental standards.
The RoSPA Awards celebrated 60 years of presenting highly-regarded and sought after accolades to businesses and organizations which have shown commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.
Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organizations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants' overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership, and workforce involvement, risk management, active monitoring and sharing of safety information beyond organizational boundaries.
Julia Small, RoSPA's head of awards and events, said: "To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognizes their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organizations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations."
