E-tracker v.2 responds to increasing complexity of managing e-tickets

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: 4 May, 2010 - Travelport, operator of both the Galileo and Worldspan global distribution systems (GDS), today unveiled a new and improved version of its popular e-tracker product, a powerful web-based tracking tool that gives travel agencies the ability to efficiently manage the status of their e-tickets.

With the increasing complexity of managing electronic tickets, the automated e-ticketing solution provides the Middle East travel trade with an accurate way of tracking and analysing e-tickets issued, giving agents the ability to conveniently record, monitor and access comprehensive reports in real time.

Agencies are leveraging the tool to not only reduce the time they spend on managing e-tickets, but to generate cost savings by managing refunds and exchanges more efficiently. For example, by staying on top of unused e-tickets, agents can generate significant cost savings for their clients, particularly corporate customers. The solution can also be used to track unclaimed tickets during travel disruptions, such as the recent volcanic ash cloud which impacted global flight schedules.

Boasting advanced search options, criteria selections and reporting features, Travelport's highly-anticipated e-tracker v.2 is the ultimate e-ticket tracking solution, with a host of new capabilities that respond to the growing requirements of the Middle East travel trade.

These include expanded search functions so that agents can find e-tickets by branch, travel agent name, passenger name, or frequent flyer number. Importantly, e-tracker reports now include new fields such as fare basis, giving agents a clear idea of applicable fare rules and conditions. Ticket value can be easily identified, with a link to the image of the ticket accessible through the report.

"As the landscape of the travel industry evolves rapidly, agents need a tool that can help them manage the increasing complexity of managing electronic tickets, which is the mandatory form of ticketing for all IATA-accredited travel agencies worldwide," said Rabih Saab, Vice-President, Middle East, Travelport. "The enhanced version of e-tracker has been specifically requested by many of our travel agency customers, who rely heavily upon the tool to increase the efficiency of their operations."

Travel agents can access e-tracker online at https://etracker.galileo.com or from any customised Galileo Viewpoint toolbar. Reports can be downloaded directly into Microsoft Excel, improving the efficiency of an agent's workflow by eliminating the need to access a separate system
