Dubai, UAE - October 21, 2008: Toshiba Electronics Europe will be showing its newly launched range of SD format Flash memory cards at GITEX Technology Week in Dubai. The range offers the widest choice for all uses from premium consumer applications to high-speed professional requirements.

The Toshiba range is split into three lines: Standard, High-Speed and High-Speed Professional. The Standard line combines the quality and reliability of a premium brand with data read speeds of up to 20MByte/sec and write speeds of up to 6MByte/sec - twice the rate of many competing products. Available now in 2, 4 and 8GByte capacities, 16 and 32GByte versions will be introduced during the fourth quarter of this year.

Toshiba's High-Speed SD cards offer data read speeds of up to 20MByte/sec and write speeds of up to 10MByte/sec and are available in 4, 8, 16 and 32GByte versions today. The increasing transfer speeds and capacities of the SD format are extending their use from applications such as smart phones and compact cameras to areas including digital SLR cameras, that traditionally have used the Compact Flash format, and camcorders, which used digital tape.

For users who require the highest performance, the Toshiba High-Speed Professional SD card line provides a maximum read and write speed of 20MByte/sec in 1, 2 and 4GByte versions.
