International Golfing Maestro to visit Oman end of January

Muscat, January 14, 2006: The Wave, Muscat's premier waterfront community, will soon be announcing the sign-up of an international golfing legend for its world-class Golf Course.

The signature Golf Course, the first sea-facing course in the Sultanate of Oman, will be spread over 800,000 square metres and will be one of the best-equipped facilities in the entire region, providing a visual and environmental masterpiece.

The promoters of The Wave, Muscat have signed up the golfing celebrity to design the Links course, which will be a centre of attraction of the unique integrated waterfront development in Muscat. Once complete, the golf course will be a perfect balance of nature and man-made landscape to blend with the natural terrain that Muscat offers. Designed to be the most exclusive facility, the world-class Golf Course is expected to put Muscat among the top international golfing destinations.

The masterplan of the golf course, to be finalized in consultation with the world-renowned golfer, is expected to include a Golf and Country Club equipped with sports, banquet and conference facilities, a teaching academy and a driving range.

An ideal investment and lifestyle opportunity, the project is a joint venture comprising Oman's Waterfront Investments, which includes the Government of the Sultanate, the National Investment Funds Company, which represents the Omani Pension Funds and State General Reserve Funds, and the UAE's Majid Al Futtaim Investments.

Talking about the ensuing plans vis--vis the golf course, Mr. Wael Al Lawati, Acting CEO of The Wave, Muscat, said: "We will announce the golfing legend who will design the one-of-its-kind course. The golf course's layout is expected to incorporate both challenge and playability and with beachside location, lakes and creative tee box and pin placements, The Wave, Muscat plans to offer a golf course that is both beautiful and intriguing for players of all skill levels.
