Abu Dhabi: A fleet of super-charged cars, a premier F1 track, one-on-one instructions from pro-drivers and first hand exposure to driving in extreme conditions provided the perfect formula to host the recent Mercedes-Benz AMG Performance Tour 2010 .
The seven-day tour, held at the Abu Dhabi Yas Marina F1 circuit, offered Mercedes-Benz partners, customers and media to participate in an unforgettable driver training program.
The event encompassed a rare, immersive and multi-dimensional experience for guests to get behind the wheel of an exclusive selection of the AMG fleet - E63, C63, S63, CL63 and SLS AMG - for a drive around the Yas Marina F1 Circuit with a knowledgeable product specialist.
Guido Brormann Market Management Mercedes-AMG DCAA & South Africa was on hand, along with his team, to host the seven waves of customers, invitees and press.
A novel and exciting 'Kick Plate' area enabled the participants to learn the techniques of handling in extreme conditions and a timed circuit added additional exposure of learning to deal with power and performance under demanding circumstances.
The SLS AMG, introduced to the market earlier this year, was undoubtedly the star of the show and proved a favourite for many of those present. A one-on-one 'taxi ride' experience with F1 safety car driver Bernd Maylaender highlighted the pull potential of the 'gullwing' with guests given their own personal hot laps around the circuit.
