In view of the large number of visitors during the Eid holidays, Mondays and Tuesdays are once again set aside for ladies and families at the vast facility

Entertainment Bonanza...Cultural diaspora... Tourism destination...the Global Village wears many a facet, facets that since its inception in 1996 have made it one of Dubai's premier attractions. By uniquely blending cultural artifacts from the past and present with themed elements that give visitors a greater understanding of the world they live in, the Global Village has always been about enlightenment, into the traditions and cultures of the world, into creative interpretations of the skills of artistes from the world over.

Spread across 17.2 million sq.ft., the Global Village at Dubailand on Emirates Road, the ultimate leisure, entertainment and tourism destination in the region, resonates this year with the music, dances, arts and handicrafts, theatre, costume and cuisine of 40 different countries like France, Germany, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Afghanistan, India, Morocco, China, Philippines and Egypt to name a few, revealing the mystical elements that unfold in traditions the world over.

With the teaming number of ladies and families visiting the Global Village during the Eid holidays, the Ladies Only and Family Days are being reintroduced to make it easier for women and families to enjoy the Global Village experience. Over the years, it has been a festival tradition to designate certain days as ladies only and families only days. This year Mondays will be reserved for ladies only and Tuesdays will be family days from 4.00pm to 12.00pm every week while the timings over the weekend on Wednesday and Thursdays are from 4pm to 1am.

Thus whether it be Peshawari shawl, the choice of Kenyan cuisine or pearls from Iran, its all the more initiative for ladies to head for the Global Village, the ultimate shopping destination that provides good, clean fun and entertainment in a safe and happy environment for everyone. So, it's time for the ladies to just be themselves, and immerse themselves in the riches on offer at this shopaholic's haven, where craftsmen and tradesmen of the world come together to display and sell their wares.

Embodying the  'One World, One Family, One Festival' message of the DSF, the Global Village offers something for every member of the family. While women are drawn to the wonderful array of items on sale at the various pavilions, children cannot get enough of the games and rides and men love to try the different cuisines offered at the many restaurants and cafes set up in the Village and Tuesdays are the days for families to have a good time out there.

The Global Village 2006 which is on until March 3, 2006 is sponsored by Americana, Chevrolet, Cool&Cool, Emirates Bank, London Dairy, Aquafina, Cellucom and Pepsi. For further information, please visit the Global Village website: www.globalvillage.ae or their call center on 700044444.
