Property originally constructed in 1893 now boutique hotel using Mitel's IP Telephony Solution
OTTAWA, CANADA - Mitel, a leading provider of IP communications solutions, announced today that the Inn at Henderson's Wharf, a prestigious 38-suite Baltimore boutique hotel, is implementing a Mitel IP Telephony (IPT) solution. To leverage their existing data network by converging voice and data, the Inn implemented Mitel's 3300 Integrated Communications Platform, which included the property-wide deployment of Mitel IP Phones. With the 3300 ICP the Inn was able to reduce their cabling and system administration costs while ensuring guests access to a full-range of hospitality-specific telephony features. Pinnacle Communications, a Maryland-based, nationwide Mitel Platinum Solutions Provider, implemented the IP Telephony solution.
"The Inn at Henderson's Wharf is a prime example of how Mitel's leadership position in the hospitality sector is now being extended with the deployment of IP solutions," said Don Smith, CEO, Mitel. "As part of the refitting exercise the Inn adopted a cost effective yet forward-thinking strategy to ensure that they were able to maximize the guest experience today and in the coming years."
Mitel's IP Telephony solution additionally provides the Inn with a wide variety of embedded features and functionality that can be leveraged as their business grows. Advanced wireless and messaging applications to optimize communication between employees and guests can be enabled when needed, including wireless check-in and roaming services.
"Communication is perhaps the most critical feature a hotel has, and Mitel's 3300 ICP ensures that we never fall behind in that area," said Wes Robison, General Manager, the Inn at Henderson's Wharf. "As a smaller property we are very selective in our investments. Unless an investment helps grow our business, streamline operations and enable us to better service the guest, we aren't interested. Mitel's IP Telephony solution not only provides us with an immediate return by leveraging our existing data network investment, but it also has limitless options to grow with, and enhance, our business."
The Inn at Henderson's Wharf was originally constructed by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in 1893 as a tobacco warehouse and was refitted in 1990 as a one of Baltimore's highest rated hotel properties. The property is a unique and rare example of the marriage between 19th century architecture and 21st century technology, providing guests with a truly memorable hospitality experience.
