Tickets Available Today and Tomorrow
Dubai - The Disney Symphony - the Magical Music of Walt Disney - is in Dubai tomorrow night only for a charity event organized by 'Dubai Cares', the campaign to help educate one million children in poor countries. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event will be staged at the Dubai Creek Park from 7pm - 9pm.
Tickets for the show are on sale and can be purchased online at www.showbizme.com or www.dubaicares.ae or by contacting 04 366 22 77 from 3pm - 9pm today and tomorrow prior to show time. Pick-up points for purchased tickets include Virgin Mega Stores in Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the campaign, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The symphony orchestra will present a musical journey featuring early classics and recent releases of Walt Disney's movies, including the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, and The Lion King and will be accompanied by 2 giant LED screens displaying scenes from each movie.
Act 1 of the programme - approximately fifty minutes - will begin at 7:00 with a Disney Classics Overture followed by orchestral renditions of Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Mary Poppins and Beauty and the Beast. Act 2 will take the audience through a musical journey of classics Rescuers Down Under, Aladdin, Mulan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Lion King.
The event will also include off-stage activities for children prior to the show and a food court and will culminate in a 3-minute pyrotechnic spectacular, marking the grand finale to the magical evening.
'Dubai Cares' is the latest in a line of international initiatives that express Dubai's willingness to play an effective role in securing a better tomorrow for future generations. The campaign is Dubai's contribution to a global drive to help countries achieve their U.N. Millennium Development Goals of providing primary education to every child by 2015.
