Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 24 October 2004 -  Suffering from post summer blues? Well, Cadillac has the perfect pick-me-up in the form of the 2005 Cadillac CTS-V which is about to hit roads across the Middle East.

While it bears the badge of the highly popular CTS, the V edition is a wolf in sheep's clothing, providing high-performance driving enthusiasts with a serious, credible alternative to imports in the highly competitive, low-volume luxury performance segment.

The V-Series has been designed to take Cadillac's performance credentials to an entirely new level. With 400 horsepower, CTS-V is the most powerful production model Cadillac has ever offered.

Based on Cadillac's performance-oriented rear-drive Sigma architecture, CTS-V is a highly refined high-performance luxury sedan designed for performance enthusiast drivers, who are likely to be among the most knowledgeable automotive buyers in terms of product information and who take pleasure in knowing the intricate details about their vehicles. They follow technology trends and buy powerful, refined vehicles.

Like the original CTS, CTS-V was refined and validated at Germany's famed Nrburgring to meet the expectations of the world's most avid driving enthusiasts.

It is equipped with a Corvette-derived, 5.7-liter V-8 engine, generating 400 bhp and 395 ft.-lbs. of torque which can propel you form 0 to 60mph in a staggering 4.6 seconds!

And there is more to covet than just the superb power under the hood.

The CTS-V has a six-speed manual gearbox, four-piston Brembo brakes, Goodyear Eagle F1 245/45 run-flat tires on larger, 18-inch wheels, performance shocks, springs, stabilizer bars and braces, totally unique ground-effect cladding, two distinctive front grilles, its own instrumentation, audio system, seats and standard heating to both the front seats and the outside mirrors.

In other words, the CTS-V has its own drivetrain and its own interior. And as Cadillac will only be bringing a handful of these cars to the region they are sure to become collector's items.

A car that people are already queuing up to buy in the USA, Cadillac expects a similar response in the Middle East.  There can be little doubt that the CTS-V is a vehicle that is sure to be treasured by those lucky enough to own one and coveted by those who don't.

Will the CTS-V have much competition in the form of other fast, strong-handling sports sedans? Cadillac - and the motoring media who have already experienced this vehicle - don't think so.  Cadillac has already stated that it is not going to talk about how the CTS-V stacks up against anyone else - partly because there isn't anything comparable. Instead it requests people to judge the vehicle on its own merit.
