The Board of Directors Assessed More than 400 Youths to Find the Top 20 Future Leaders in the GCC
The Board of Directors of the Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Foundation has revealed the names of participants in the Fourth Round of the Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Leadership Program (ALP), which is the first of its kind in the GCC. The programme aims to support and develop the leadership skills of ambitious GCC youth through a special initiative by His Highness Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Supreme Chairman of the Foundation, with support of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and with follow-up and encouragement from His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council.
The Committee received over 400 applications through its website, and interviewed about 100 young men and ladies who passed the earlier selection phase. Finally, 20 ambitious UAE and GCC youths were shortlisted to participate in the fourth season of ALP.
Initially launched in 2003, ALP has an important mission that seeks to empower talented young people of all GCC nationalities with the knowledge and skills required to take responsibility, drive leadership and lead teams at every level across the region's public and private sectors. The programme has a clear vision that aims to create a generation of young empowered leaders as great leadership is forged when creative and independent thinking is shaped by experience and tempered by wisdom.
ALP targets all GCC youths: men and women between the age of 25 and 35, with the drive and talent to succeed in a leadership role. It is open to holders of higher diploma, Bachelor's and Master's degrees. The applicant should ideally be employed with at least two years of work experience and be proficient in English.

Marwan bin Ghalaita, Vice Chairman of the Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Foundation's Board of Directors said: "It is our pleasure to announce the names of the final list of participants in the Fourth Round of Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Leadership Program (ALP). This distinguished group of GCC youths has been selected by the Higher Committee of ALP after several phases that included direct interviews and Psychometric tests. Over the past months, we exerted great efforts to select 20 participants from more than 400 applications received from 20 April to 20 August 2016."
"This Round, as in previous rounds, has witnessed great participation figures from all GCC countries. It has also been distinguished by great number of young Gulf talents, which highlights the efficiency and success of ALP as an optimal platform for ambitious young people to learn new skills and expand their knowledge to become successful leaders in future," HE Eng. Marwan bin Ghalaita added.
Participants will take part in theoretical and applied lessons after ALP's official launch in Fermont Ajman Hotel under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Foundation on Sunday, 9 October 2016. ALP also covers core competencies like Innovation and Creativity, Global Trends, Personal Development Plan, Strategic Management, Change Management, Emotional Intelligence, and other subjects that help to achieve the program's objectives. Furthermore, there are supplementary modules, including Etiquette and Protocol, Health and Nutrition, Media Coaching, Social Media and many others.
The Committee revealed the names of the twenty participants, namely: Ahmed AlMuhairi, Mariam AlZaabi, Sultan AlBalushi, Sultan AlMeamary, Mohammed AlNahdi, Ibtihal AlTamimi, Amna AlTunaiji, Ayesha AlHosani, Adeeb Askani, Mubarak AlKuwaiti, Saud AlNuaimi, Fatimah AlShamsi, Saeed AlKaabi, Sheikha AlMatrooshi, Wafa AlZaabi, from the UAE; Mohammed AlShaalan from KSA; Wafa AlShaibani from the Kingdom of Bahrain; Fatima Bin Rajab from Kuwait; Wujood AlAamiri and Muyassar AlKamzari from the Sultanate of Oman.
HE Eng. Marwan bin Ghalaita explained that the program for the selected twenty young people will start next October and will last for 6 months. They will receive theoretical and practical learning for 6 hours a day, 5 working days per month, distributed as follows: 9 - 13 October; 6 - 10 November; 11 - 15 December; 8 - 12 January; 5 - 9 February; 12 - 16 March. Bin Ghalaita also noted that the number of graduates from the three former seasons were 55 young men and ladies from GCC countries.
Sheikha Ali Al Nuaimi, Corporate Communication Manager of ALP, explained the details and phases of ALP's journey with basic headings, namely: Creativity, Empowerment, Sustainability and Giving. She pointed out that the launch of the programme will be in October and will continue until next March. It will be one week in each month, as follows: the 1st week will be "MySelf", in Ajman, from 9 - 13 October. It will include: an Introduction, Self-Development Plan, Emotional Intelligence, Health Development Plan, and Financial Planning, in addition to Interaction with Media and Social Media. The 2nd week "My Creativity" will start from 6 - 10 November in Abu Dhabi, with a creative theme. It includes: Innovation Challenge, Innovation and Creativity, and Socio Environmental Sustainability.
The 3rd week "My Team" will start from 11 - 15 December in Abu Dhabi. It includes: Leadership Behavior Competencies, and Emergency Response. The 4th week "MySelf and Others" starts from 8 - 12 January in Dubai. It includes Strategic Planning, Talent Management, Performance Management, Protocol and Etiquette. The 5th week "My Organization" starts from 5 - 9 February in Dubai. It includes: Organisational Behaviour, and Protocol and Etiquette. The 6th and last week "My World" starts from 12 - 16 March in Ajman, with a global theme. It includes: Global Trends, Change Leadership, Developed Communication Networks, and Protocol and Etiquette.

The Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Leadership Program (ALP) was launched in July 2013 as a platform of support to GCC leaders of the next generation. It provides candidates with all necessary knowledge, information and skills to tackle responsibilities and lead work teams in government and private sectors in the region.
