Dyson harnesses Dubai's inventive spirit to launch its first flagship store in Middle East and Africa to bring its technologies to life.

Dubai, UAE - Dyson today announced the upcoming launch of its first flagship Dyson Demo store in the Middle East and Africa, with doors scheduled to open in Dubai Mall later this week.

It will be the newest addition to a growing number of Dyson Demos globally, including Tokyo, Paris and London’s Oxford Street. It will be the only place in the Middle East and Africa where visitors can test and customise Dyson’s high-performing technology, as well as learn about Dyson’s unique approach to design and engineering.

Dyson’s full portfolio of technology will be available to experience, including the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer which was described by Vogue as a “game changer” and launched in the region earlier this year to acclaim by the likes of beauty expert and early adopter Joelle Mardinian. Also available to test will be the range of intelligent, connected air purifiers; the autonomous Dyson 360 Eye™ robot as well as Dyson’s high performing cord-free vacuums.

As a cosmopolitan hub of innovation, with an unwavering commitment to technology, Dubai is the ideal location for Dyson’s first dedicated physical retail footprint in the MEA region.

Youssef Mouallem, General Manager for Dyson Middle East and Africa said, “Dubai is rapidly emerging as an innovation-led economy and a good home for technology-focused businesses. This makes it the ideal place to launch the region’s first Dyson demo store.”

The Dyson Demo opens later this week and will be located on Level 2 of Dubai Mall (closest parking: Fashion Parking). “Opening in the heart of the iconic Dubai Mall, the interactive store will immerse visitors in the design, engineering and technology of Dyson products with unique hands on experience designed to surprise and delight” continued Mouallem.

Dyson Technology
Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer: In January this year, Dyson made its first foray in the beauty industry in Dubai, with the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. Solving the problem with convention machines, the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer uses a fast but focused airflow, is engineered for balance in the hand and intelligently controls the temperature to help protect hair from extreme heat damage.

Dyson V8TM cord-free vacuums: As technology evolves, so do Dyson core-free vacuums. Launching in Dubai in September 2016, the latest machine has a re-engineered digital motor, new battery chemistry and acoustic improvements. Thanks to the Dyson digital motor V8, which spins at up to 110,000rpm, the Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum provides powerful fade-free suction and weighs just 2.6kg.

Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier fan:  Air pollution across the world is becoming an increasing problem.  Introduced to the UAE in April 2016, the Dyson Pure Cool removes 99.95% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.1 microns from air[1]. This purifying fan captures microscopic airborne pollutants in your home.

Dyson Lighting: All products in the Demo are illuminated by Dyson Lighting’s Cu-BeamTM suspended lights, which use a single high-power LED to project powerful light, precisely where it’s needed. Thanks to their effective cooling system, which uses heat pipe technology to direct heat away from the LEDs, prolonging their life, the lights stay bright for up to 180,000 hours. Designed by Jake Dyson and the Dyson Lighting team, the lights seek to overcome the issues associated with fluorescent lighting and the overheating issues associated with LED technology.

About Dyson:
Dyson Ltd is a British technology company, headquartered in Malmesbury, United Kingdom.

In 1978, founder and inventor James Dyson became frustrated with his vacuum cleaner's diminishing performance. Five years and 5,217 prototypes later, he had invented the world’s first bagless vacuum cleaner. Today, Dyson technology is sold in 75 markets globally. Dyson has grown from one man and one idea to a technology company with an ever-growing team of engineers and scientists at its core.

In the past four years, Dyson revenue has more than doubled and Dyson’s technology investments have tripled. By 2020, Dyson aims to hire another 3,000 engineers globally.

In September 2016 Dyson opened its new £250m 56 acre Technology Campus in Wiltshire, England. The new facilities provide 129 laboratories for future product development, with over 200 live technology projects as well as 50 active research programmes with 40 universities around the world.   The Campus employs 2,500 Dyson people, and will be home to the Dyson Institute of Technology when it opens in September 2017.

In February 2017, Dyson opened the doors to Dyson’s new Technology Centre in Singapore, as part of a £330m investment. The new facility has the latest development labs, bringing together the latest hardware and software expertise. Dyson plans to grow the Singapore-based engineering team by 50 per cent. Located in the heart of Singapore’s start-up community and next to the National University of Singapore, the new Centre’s engineering teams will focus developing new technologies for the future.
