Captain Ashraf Mabrouk to speak about Khalifah Port regulatory procedures
Under the technical guidance and supervision of Captain Ashraf Mabrouk, the Khalifah Port Harbour Master from the Abu Dhabi Port Company, IQPC will be organizing Tanks and Terminal Management 2013 at The Westin in Abu Dhabi from 1 to 4 September 2013. The conference will cover various aspects of tanker loading, off-loading, terminal automation systems, tank storage, tank cleaning and maintenance, and regulatory policies involving tanks and terminal operations.
Frederik Twiest, Deputy General Manager of Gulf Petrochem from the Fujairah Oil Terminal says, "My topic is specific, but important, as many terminals have open steel pontoon floating roofs or open single pan floating roofs. The situations I have experienced are a combination of bad maintenance in the past and hurricanes which sank a pontoon floating roof of a 130,000 cbm tank in the Bahamas. In case tanks cannot be quickly taken out of service, there is a very special temporary repair/solution for this problem. I will discuss various issues, like corrosion in the pontoons, clogged emergency roof drains, and the temporary repair method while tanks are still in service. Eventually, the standard will be to build tanks with geodesic domes and aluminum/steel internal floaters."
Captain Paul Nix, General Manager, Gulf Petrochem of the Fujairah Oil Terminal will be a part of an exclusive panel discussion with other experts from GASCO and Cylingas where the best HSE practices in a terminal will be covered. Raed Ali Mustafa Sheikh, GM and Clayton Rebello, EHS Manager will be presenting ENOC's subsidiary company, Cylingas' best construction and development practices involving annular replacement involving hot work at a live terminal. The topic will also address a very important factor involving inspection and damage assessment in an operating terminal.
GASCO's Head of Rotating Equipment from the Sub-Maintenance Division, Yousef Al Hammadi, will showcase a case study involving the Ruwais plant's storage tanks, where he will speak to the attendees about the practices involved in maintaining and inspecting naptha storage tanks. Sahar Abdul-Karim Khattab will showcase a very solid case study from ADMA-OPCO on crude oil storage endorsement extension.
Captain Ashraf Mabrouk will deliver a complete end-to-end regulatory presentation on Abu Dhabi Port Company's procedures, regulations and penalties. This is one of the most awaited presentations in the GCC, since this gives a clear idea on how the operations at the Khalifah Port in Abu Dhabi are managed thus benefitting tank companies, terminal operators, oil, gas and petrochemical companies doing business in the Middle East. As Raed Mustafa, GM of Cylingas says, " Delegates should attend this conference because it gives a seldom and precious chance to share knowledge and practical experience, and it gives a forum for direct interaction among people of different sectors of business (for example the end user, terminal owner, terminal operator, EPC contractor, subcontractors, etc)".
Tanks and Terminal Management 2013 is a step forward by companies in the region to tap into enormous business potential and highlight the 30% increase in terminal business operations in 2013 and continue further growth amongst key operators and personnel.
