Tamkeen: Tuesday, 26 April 2011 - Tamkeen and Bahrain Property Developers Association (BaPDA) signed an agreement to conduct a training course designed for property development professionals as well as those who finance, manage or deal with real estates.

The four-day workshop which will commence in June 2011, will be conducted by the prestigious Institute for International Research (IIR) Middle East, a part of Informa plc, the leading international provider of specialist information and services for the academic and scientific, professional and commercial business communities. It will address all elements of real estate development from research and planning all the way through to development and marketing.

The ceremony was attended by Tamkeen's Vice President for Enterprise and Human Capital Development Dr. Ahmed Abdulghani Al Shaikh, Ms. Amal Kooheji, Senior Manager - Human Capital Development, Mrs. Suad AlShakrani, Manager -Human Capital Development along with the Chairman of the Board of BaPDA Mr. Aaref Hejres, and Vice President Dr. Hassan Al Bastaki.

This is the first step in the programme following earlier discussions on ways in which the two organizations can work together to create new opportunities. Tamkeen and BaPDA agreed to conduct workshops and certification courses to improve property development training in Bahrain.  Both Tamkeen and BaPDA share a common vision which is to enhance the overall prosperity of Bahrain by investing in Bahraini employability, job creation, and social support.

The Chairman of the Board of BaPDA Mr. Aaref Hejres, said, "A vital component in our quest for quality is the constant investment in people, facilities, and technologies.  This certification workshop is the first step towards our goal of helping to create within Bahrain and the region a new generation of property developers of high standards. We are proud to work with Tamkeen to develop the pool of talent and professionalism to serve both local and regional job requirements. The Institute for International Research (IIR) Middle East has done significant work in the region and we are confident that the workshop to be conducted by them will further help the industry. It is the unified and determined focus of both Tamkeen and BaPDA to nurture and empower local talent, helping them achieve their potential through appropriate certifications and qualifications."

About Tamkeen:
Tamkeen is a semi-autonomous yet independent authority which formulates strategic and operational plans to enhance the overall prosperity of Bahrain by investing in Bahraini employability, job creation and social support. Tamkeen is funded by the fees collected by the LMRA.

Tamkeen has invested more than BD 140 million in more than 70 projects targeting 45,000 Bahrainis and 8,000 enterprises.  Programmes are continuously being devised as per Tamkeen's strategy and the numbers of beneficiaries are continuously increasing.

About BaPDA
The Bahrain Property Development Association (BaPDA) is a non-profit organization established in 2010 with the vision of becoming the Kingdom of Bahrain's recognised property development association. It is a representative organisation that will foster infrastructure services, cooperation, fair trade practices and integrity among its members, while providing a platform for members to liaise with the government authorities in forming best practice policies relating to the industry.
