Under the Slogan 'Coloring the Present and Building the Future'

Amman, Jordan: Under the Patronage of H.E. Mr. Omar Maani, Mayor of Amman, Taameer Jordan Holdings launched the second phase of repainting Eastern Amman with a voluntary day on Wednesday August 29th 2007.

H.E. Mr. Omar Maani, Mayor of Amman, Dr. Khalid Al Wazani, General Manager of Taameer Jordan Holdings, team members from both organizations, and members of Al Hasan Volunteer scouts started the campaign by repainting old homes in Zahran area of Jabal Amman. Zahran area is one of 18 areas to be repainted and renovated as part of this project.

Taameer Jordan Holdings' contribution to GAM's initiative comes as a result of an agreement signed between both sides last month.

The agreement stipulates that Taameer Jordan Holdings funds the second phase of the Municipality initiative, and to this end, the company donated a sum of JD 100 thousand.

Taameer Jordan Holdings also committed itself to completing the renovation effort over a period of 100 days starting on the voluntary day. To further ensure that this phase is completed in accordance with the highest standards of quality, the houses will be repainted using high quality weather shield paint products from Dulux Paints.

Taameer Jordan Holdings' involvement in the second phase of this project comes in line with its strategy to support Jordan's social and economic development. Through this contribution, the company is hoping to contribute to the efforts of positioning Eastern Amman District on the global tourism map, and it strives to achieve this goal by ensuring that the area is renovated without loosing its authentic feel.

"We launched this initiative with the slogan 'Coloring the Present and Building the Future' to reflect our endeavors in enhancing the present by our humble contributions to the local communities, and in developing for the future by our projects all over Jordan." Dr. Al Wazani explained.

"On this occasion, I thank each and every member of the Greater Amman Municipality who contributed to this initiative. I also thank the volunteers who joined us in our quest to beatify our beloved city, as their contribution reflects the true spirit of social responsibility they hold within" he added.

From his end, H.E. Mr. Omar Maani, Mayor of Amman upheld Taameer Jordan Holdings' commitment to social development in Jordan.

"Creating a better quality of life for the citizens of Amman is one of the core values we adopt at the Municipality. This goal, however, cannot be achieved unless we work with the community as a whole towards this end. Seeing the high-level of commitment so far made to this cause, makes me positive that all phases of this project will be completed in the time allocated for them and in accordance with the highest standards of quality" he added.

Taameer Jordan Holdings had also recently completed all the maintenance and re-painting jobs it set out to do as part of its full adoption of the Hashemite School for Girls in Aqaba. This project was implemented as part of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority large scale CSR initiative.

Taameer Jordan Holdings is also striving to launch several other social and economic development initiatives. The company will be unveiling charity initiatives during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
