The GE technology provided through Symed LLC is the first of its kind in the UAE
Sharjah, 13 November - The International Radiology Centre (IRC) in partnership with Symed UAE, recently held a training seminar for health professionals regarding the advanced clinical applications of multi - slice CT technology.
The event, which was attended by over 150 radiologists, doctors and other medical professionals from the governmental sector as well as from private clinics in Dubai, Sharjah and the northern Emirates, provided the ideal opportunity to learn about CT technologies and the role of multi - slice scanning in medical diagnostics.
Mr. John O'Connell, CT specialist from GE Healthcare led the event with his lecture regarding the imaging applications and technologies that are currently available, and their importance. His lecture went on to discuss clinical applications for the most sophisticated and modern tools in diagnostic radiology. These include a variety of specialized machines that can assist the UAE'S medical professionals in the practices of Angiography, Colonography and Dental diagnostics among others.
IRC's director, Professor Ahmed El Serafi, Consultant Radiologist concluded the evening by inviting the assembled medical professionals to dinner. Commenting on the success of the evening El Serafi said: "Symed and IRC are delighted to host an event like this, especially when it provides a forum for learning and developing our skills in our chosen medical field."
"Here at IRC we are committed to offering the best service possible to all of our patients," he added. IRC will soon launch its CTLM unit - a breast laser scanner that is used for early diagnosis of breast cancer - without the need for painful biopsies. This technology will again be the first of its kind in the UAE. "By using our chosen partners to ensure we have the latest technologies and are up to date with diagnostic developments internationally, we feel we can make a positive contribution to the health of the UAE," he concluded.
