In cooperation with the Civil Defense Department in Ajman, Ajman University of Science and Technology has organized a training course for the student hostel supervisors with a view to developing their skills and expertise to face security and safety incidents that may occur in the student residential halls.
The training course, which lasted three days, addressed many issues, notably the techniques of treating cases of fainting, suffocation, incidents of burns, and artificial breathing, presented by Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Al Hammadi. Moreover, Assistant Ashraf Abdel Aziz Dahab gave a detailed account of the various equipment and types of extinguishers and clarified some fire fighting techniques with their various stages, along with practical field training in fire extinction.
The trainees expressed their appreciation of the high level of the course, pointing out that they greatly benefited from the modern approach to security and safety incidents in general and fire-fighting techniques, in particular. They equally praised the value of using state-of- the art equipment and technological means by the departments of civil defense in the UAE to provide the safest and most protective means of security.
The training session was concluded with the distribution of certificates to the trainees and memorial shields to the lecturers. Mr. Khalid Hashim, Director of Housing at the University, presented the Major Saif al-Adel Matrooshi with a memorial shield in the form of a model of the building of the Ajman University, in the presence of a number of staff of the Department of Civil Defense, including Nasser Rashid Alzeri.
