Chemonics International, through the USAID-funded AMIR Program solicited proposals from Jordan-based information technology firms for the design, development, and implementation of several comprehensive e-government solutions.
The objective of this procurement, through the Achievement of Market-Friendly Initiatives and Results Program (AMIR 2.0), was to solicit responsive offers from qualified, responsible Jordan IT firms and award up to five Indefinite Quantity types Subcontracts (IQC subcontracts) for the provision of software development services. AMIR 2.0 will order IT related services from the IQC subcontract awardees depending on the predefined requirements of the e-Government of Jordan. A three-year period is the estimated base period of performance of the IQC subcontracts.
STS' long documented history of delivering and implementing high-end turnkey solutions and services in the Region has paved the way for it to be chosen, together with four other market leaders in Jordan, for this project. The competition was fierce and the nomination was rewarding for it took place against the best IT companies on the Jordanian IT scene.
STS and other awardees of IQC subcontracts are expectped to collaborate with AMIR, GoJ, EDS and Development InfoStructure (DevIS) to ensure that each Task Order contributes to the overall GoJ vision of better customer services via improved information management and communications. The end result of this collaboration will be an efficient and consistent framework for continued e-government development. Furthermore, STS and the others are also requested to provide a range of information technology services related e-government activities, such as: requirements' definition, systems architecture reviews, software design and development and systems implementation support including training. The primary focus of the services will be on defining, building, and implementing mostly Internet-based software applications.
