Muscat - A selected team comprising of 10 team members each from the Park Inn and Radisson Blu hotels in Muscat jointly underwent a one-day safety and security workshop. The corporate safety and security program was conducted by the Rezidor Hotel Group's Safety and Security Vice President, Paul Moxness. Guest and employee safety is given high priority at the company and Moxness went about educating the team through an in-depth presentation and explanation of key safety issues, security concerns and crisis management techniques.

"Maintaining high levels of safety and security is dependent on the everyday actions of every employee at every level in the hotel. Safety and security is as important in back areas as in the public areas and we rely on our entire team to be our eyes and ears in this regard," said Michael Jacobi, General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel. "Training and awareness is also crucial and we regularly update our staff and ask them to be alert while carrying on their day to day activities," he stressed.

"This is the first time that an extended team has been incorporated into this kind of a program. In the past it has only been the General Managers in the company that were briefed at this level. With more people aware of how to deal with a various situations, we can better uphold one of the promises we make our guests - to do the best we can to assure them a good night's sleep," added Francois Galoisy, General Manager of the Park Inn Muscat.

Earlier this year the Park Inn Muscat was affected by basement flooding in the aftermath of Cyclone Phet. Due to quick thinking and actions of the employees, a major disaster was averted and the hotel re-opened its doors successfully after a month.
