Bank's Branch Managers are all UAE Nationals

UAE, 21, February, 2012 - Standard Chartered announced today that it will be participating at the 14th Edition of the National Career Exhibition which is taking place at the Expo Centre in Sharjah from 22nd to 24th of February and the Bank's stand is located in Hall 6, Stand E6/2. The Bank has been participating at the exhibition for several years and is an active participant at the various career exhibitions that take place in the country.

At the Exhibition, Standard Chartered's Talent Acquisition Specialists will be identifying and instantly interviewing prospect UAE National talent who fit in the various departments and/ or training and development programmes the Bank offers.

Commenting on the Bank's participation at the Exhibition, Jane Chapo, Head of Human Resources, Standard Chartered UAE said:

As a part of its strategy, Standard Chartered has a number of strategic alliances with several UAE based organisations and provides a number of training programmes which makes it one of the best employers for UAE Nationals in the country. Below is a list of the programmes that the Bank currently provides: 

International Graduate Programme: This is the Bank's flagship programme, it aims to develop the bank's future leaders. The International Graduate Programme is a fast-paced, challenging programme that will set candidates up for a highly successful career in banking.

The Programme offers eight streams covering Wholesale Bank, Consumer Bank and Specialist Functions. The programme allows candidates to work in international teams and collaborate across borders.

Al Tahadi Educational Support Programme: This programme provides UAE National students with financial support while they are completing their studies, and guarantees access to global opportunities at Standard Chartered. The Bank currently has over 150 candidates. This programme ensures that an increased number of talented UAE Nationals join our Management Trainee Programme.

Management Trainee Programme: Scholars under the Al Tahadi Programme graduate and join the Bank. This programme was first launched in August 2007. This is a structured one year programme with rotations providing broad experience within the Bank, which allows graduates "hands on experience" of potential career paths.

Consumer Banking Academy and the Al Massar Programme: These programmes aim to acquaint UAE Nationals with the financial services industry, including product knowledge and risks associated with Consumer and Wholesale Banking.

MBA Programme: This programme offers MBA graduates individually-tailored career paths, with significant exposure to senior management and a global MBA network.

Standard Chartered has a clear Emiratisation strategy which was outlined through a report the bank recently produced and titled: "The Importance of UAE Nationals to International Companies".  The bank operates in the UAE since 1958 and currently employs more than 2300 employees in the UAE.
