The prestigious Regional SPE Honours and Awards Ceremony and Dinner is an annual event during which professionals in the industry are rewarded for their outstanding contribution within a specific sector and region. This year, the event will take place on Sunday, 9 October, at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE and will cover 12 professional and technical sectors in the oil and gas industry.

The ceremony, organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), is structured in two sequential events: a welcome reception and a gala dinner, both take place Sunday 9 October 2011 at the Beach Rotana Hotel in the UAE's Capital, Abu Dhabi.
Regional awards allow SPE to recognise a larger group of individuals whose contributions stand out among their peers. Regional award recipients are eligible for the comparable society-wide award in the following year. Some contributions, such as corporate support, are only recognised at the regional level.
