Renowned Jeweler Robert Mouawad Sells the Biggest Flawless Diamond from His World-Famous Collection
Renowned jeweler and diamond collector, Robert Mouawad, has sold the largest, flawless, cushion diamond in the world. The splendid diamond, named "The Star of Stanley Ho, Grand Lisboa, Macau" weighs 218.08 carats graded by the Gemological Institute of America, as a D-IF with excellent polish and symmetry.
Robert Mouawad says, "Each diamond is unique and has its own personality traits. The carat weight, quality grade and the immortal character are all factors that contribute to the overall beauty of a stone, but it is the human touch from the rough to polished stage that unveils its beauty and mystique." Mouawad continues, "it was a distinct privilege to be a part of this diamond's history and I am delighted to turn its legacy over to the next owner."
Over the years Robert Mouawad's unique collection has come to embrace a number of the world's most precious gems including some of the most important diamonds in history. The Mouawad collection has held the Jubilée (cushion antique shape 245.35 carats E-VVS2 grade), Premier Rose (pear shape 137.02 carats D-FL grade), Queen of Holland (cushion shape 135.92 carats D-IF grade), Mouawad Magic (emerald cut 108.81 carats D-IF grade), Mouawad Monolith (emerald cut 104.02 carats D-IF grade), Mouawad Splendor (eleven sided pear shape 101.84 carats D-IF grade), Idol's Eye (triangular modified shape 70.20 cts natural light blue - VVS2 grade), Taylor Burton (pear shape 69.42 D-FL grade), Indore Diamonds (pear shape 46.39, 44.14 cts I-H, VS2 respectively grade) to name a few and in addition to numerous other fine stones.
The Mouawad History
Mouawad, a name well known for haute joaillierie, is as celebrated for its extensive collection of unique diamonds as its cutting-edge design and retail philosophy. Founded in 1890 by master watchmaker and family patriarch Daoud Mouawad, the company supplied important jewels to many royal houses and wealthy individuals. Today Mouawad continues that tradition in a modern way by adorning the necks, ears and wrists of today's "royalty" -- supermodels, singers, actresses and women of style from across the globe.
