25 officials attend four-day advanced training course
25 Managers, deputy managers and other employees of the Sharjah Economic Development Department recently attended an advanced training course, organized by the Department, on strategic planning and management.
The four-day course, led by Dr. Abdul Karim Darwish, took place in the conference room at SEDD headquarters course, which continued for 4 days in the conference room at the Department's HQ. The course focused on such fundamentals as the creation of vision, message and value neutralization and the translation of vision and message into smart, achievable targets. It also looked at environment analysis and the creation of strategic ability, using examples from various local and international strategic plans.
The course was attended by a diverse group of SEDD personnel, from the director level to lower management levels, including: Khalid Sayf Ibrahim, Director of Control and Commercial Protection; Fahad Ahmed Al Khumairi, Registration and License Managing Director; Nawal Abdul Razzaq Askar, Deputy Economic and Public Relations Manager; Amna Abdulbaqi Al Humadi, Deputy Finance and Administration Director; Mohammed Ahmed Liwad, Industrial Registration and Licensing Director; Mohammed Abdullah bin Faris, Management Affairs Director; Khalfan Salih Al Hurethi, Khourfakan Dept. Director; Hussein Hasan Al Belushi, Deputy Inspection and Inquiry Manager; Ameena Ahmed Mushabij, Deputy Financial Affairs Manager; Hamad Omar Al Midfaa, Legal Affairs Director; Hanadi Ali Al Moheri, Deputy Quality Control and Development Director; Abdullah Masoud Zuwaid, Deputy Commercial Brand Manager; Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Registration and Licensing Director; Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jasmi, Management Services Branch Director; Khalid Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Senior Client Services Official- Registration and Licensing; Mayed Mohammed Al Bas, Senior Client Services Official- Brand Department; Badr Abdullah Al Salman, Legal Researcher; Aarif Zainal Al Zarouni, Client Services Coordinator; Mayed Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Client Services Coordinator; Ali Salih Al Ali, Client Services and Brand Coordinator; and Shaymaa Hasan Al Suwaidi, Quality Control Officer.
At the conclusion of the programme, attendees received recognition from H.E Ali bin Salim Al Mahmoud, who handed out certificates of appreciation to each of them for their participation and commended their dedication and readiness to engage in the training programme.
Commenting on the role of the programme and the importance of such initiatives, Al Mahmoud said, "Training and strategic planning are vital to any organisation and the individuals in it who hope to scientifically build their professional careers. Without sound strategic planning, no real development or growth can be achieved."
"This course and other, similar initiatives are a powerful resource with which to enhance the scientific, management and leadership skills of our personnel, ensuring continuous success for both employee and organisation," he said.
Al Mahmoud noted that it has been through the strategic plans devised by its personnel that the SEDD has created an attractive investment environment and continuous growth and it is through the exceptional levels of service provided by Department staff that that growth is maintained.
"The indepth understanding of organisation and the practical skills developed by participation in this advanced training course are key to the development of leadership potential which, ultimately translates to better strategic planning within the Department and greater prosperity for the emirate of Sharjah on various levels," Al Mahmoud concluded.
