Dubai: 8 August 2006: Middle East companies need to pay more attention to the development of workable disaster recovery plans to minimise server downtime loses, according to Dr. Saeed Al Barwani, CEO of eHosting DataFort -  the regional leader in managed hosting, technology and IT security services.

eHosting DataFort, who will be participating at the upcoming IDC (international Data Corporation) IT Infrastructure roadshow in August as a gold sponsor, believes that regional customers are becoming increasingly intolerant to downtime and data loss, forcing businesses to take increased measures to implement well-designed recovery programmes.

According to North American-based Infonetics Research, the premiere international market research and consulting firm specialising in data networking and telecoms, medium sized companies lose 1% of their revenues a year to server downtime.

Organizations need to find the optimum balance between overall data recovery costs and acceptable risks to develop a workable strategy that provides the basis of a business continuity and disaster recovery plan", he added.
