Storage leader announces Middle East launch of world's most versatile family of storage products
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates: Seagate, the worldwide leader in hard disk drives and storage solutions, will launch its FreeAgent® GoFlex™ family of storage products in the Middle East during GITEX Shopper 2010 which takes place at Airport Expo, Dubai, from 16 - 23 October. Seagate's booth number at the event is CE3. The company will also showcase its BlackArmor® network attached storage solutions which are designed to address the needs of small and medium sized businesses.
Seagate's GoFlex™ storage solutions are the next evolution of the company's award-winning FreeAgent external hard drives. This new family of external drives and accessories introduces a new level of flexibility to traditional external storage that is changing the way people store, access, enjoy and share their digital content. The FreeAgent® GoFlex™ storage family includes easy, plug-and-play portable and desktop drives, with an array of interchangeable cables and desktop adapters that allow each drive to adapt to the interface or device being used. GoFlex™ hard disk drives are also specially designed to provide interoperability between operating systems in order to work with both Microsoft® Windows® and Mac® OS X computers.
GoFlex™ Ultra-portable drives are available in capacities up to 1.5TB and a range of interface options are available including USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA and Firewire® 800, making these the most upgradable portable hard drives. GoFlex Desk external hard drives offer capacities up to 3TB and it's easy to upgrade to any interface; the drive can be paired with a GoFlex USB 3.0 or FireWire® 800/USB 2.0 adapter to increase performance by up to ten times. All GoFlex™ products work with both PCs and Macs.
Seagate's BlackArmor® network attached storage (NAS) solutions is a small-business-specific storage portfolio offering up to 12 terabytes of storage. The BlackArmor family combines hardware, software and services to provide optimum uptime and data integrity to ensure business continuity. It is designed to meet the needs of small businesses and home offices and scales as the business grows. BlackArmor offerings include network-attached, workstation, and portable storage solutions.
