Independent Analysts Recognize Schneider Electric's StruxureWare as Best-in-Class Solution in 'Global Green Quadrant Energy Management Software 2013' Report
Dubai, UAE: 20 January 2013 - Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, has been named a leader in the global report, Green Quadrant Energy Management Software 2013, published by Verdantix, independent energy, environment and sustainability analysts.
Verdantix recognized Schneider Electric for its energy management and sustainability software applications, as well as strong leadership and vision. According to the report, the company articulated the most feasible and detailed vision for market evolution. Schneider Electric is one of three companies cited as a clear leader in the report.
Steve Wilhite, CEO, Summit Energy, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, said: "Our position as a leader in the report is a direct reflection of Schneider Electric's commitment to addressing our clients' most challenging energy and sustainability issues. As the report highlights, we continue to see an increased need for companies to manage, report, and optimize their energy and sustainability performance. Schneider Electric combines these prerequisites while providing guidance that ultimately drives value for our clients."
The acknowledgement was driven by the evaluation of Schneider Electric's Resource Advisor and Energy Operation software applications. Both are key elements of Schneider Electric's new StruxureWare software, the company's platform of integrated software applications that helps customers maximize business performance and achieve enhanced efficiency and sustainability. The new StruxureWare software suites specifically address key market segments such as data center, grid, healthcare and water, with each solution delivering seamless integration with third-party offers and legacy systems, as well as a scalable platform and consistent user experience.
Resource Advisor, Schneider Electric's enterprise-level StruxureWare application provides secure access to the data, reports, and summaries that drive energy and sustainability programs. The software's energy procurement and on-site energy generation capabilities brought in high scores for Schneider Electric.
Energy Operation's functionality resulted in the Green Quadrant's premier score on industrial and manufacturing plant data capture, best-in-class integration capabilities for SCADA systems and process historians for sectors such as basis resources and chemicals. Energy Operation is a flexible and scalable energy management information system that aggregates energy data into a single view to support energy efficiency initiatives. Energy Operation transforms data into essential energy information to identify areas for continuous improvement and reduce operating expenses.
Janet Lin, Senior Manager and Co-Head of the Energy Practice at Verdantix, said: "Schneider Electric understands the marketplace and develops solutions that meet the growing demands of the sector. This strategy has clearly positioned the company as a leader in energy management software."
The report combined benchmark data from 14 live product demonstrations, responses to a 134 point questionnaire and interviews with an independent customer panel comprising 15 current or potential users of enterprise energy management software, representing firms with combined revenues of US$340 billion.
The Green Quadrant report helps senior executives and decision-makers such as chief sustainability officers, chief financial officers, directors of facilities and procurement heads across varied industries to select a software provider to help them manage their firm's energy supply, consumption and cost from the facility to the enterprise level.
