Partnership to offer one-stop-shop supply chain solutions
To focus on Asia, Pacific and Africa regions immediately
Dubai, UAE - Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE:SAY), a global IT consulting and services provider, and Miebach Logistics Group, today announced a services and technology collaboration to offer supply chain solutions covering strategy, process, engineering and technology to customers in the region across industry sectors.
The alliance will address the logistics requirements in various industry verticals including retail and consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, automotive and logistics services providers. This alliance, which has evolved over the past one year, comes as a strong consulting option for companies, particularly those with operations in the key Asian regions. The growing importance of the Middle East and South East Asia, with its strategic position in terms of geography and inherent strengths as a hub for international trade, presents significant potential for businesses assisting clients in developing world-class supply chain strategies and solutions, consulting and IT solutions deployment.
Ajith Menon, Vice President and Head of Satyam's Middle East, Africa & Central Asia Operations said: "Dubai is the world's third largest port for re-exports after Hong Kong and Singapore, and last year total exports from the emirate were valued at about $12 billion. By aligning with Miebach, a leading logistics consultancy, we believe we can offer our customers an integrated platform for their needs. As a result, companies can regain control of their distribution channels and ensure significant inventory reduction and customer service level improvements by at least 20 per cent."
Miebach is a leader in the niche logistics design and engineering space, particularly in the warehousing and material flow related processes. Satyam brings the logistics application expertise and the user domain perspective to the alliance.
Commenting on this relationship, G. B. Prabhat, Director, Consulting and Enterprise Solutions (CES) unit, Satyam, said: "Miebach Logistics, has, over the years, consistently provided cutting edge logistics consulting and engineering solutions to leading names from various industries. We are delighted to partner with Miebach Logistics, and its team of transnational supply chain consultants. I believe this alliance will go a long way in bringing mature logistics practices to emerging markets and Asia particularly".
According to Dr. Joachim Miebach, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Miebach Logistik Holding: "Satyam with its strong combination of logistics applications and supply chain domain expertise brings great value as a partner to complement our strengths. We are extremely happy to have increased our global services capability by partnering with Satyam. This alliance could bring a greater combined value add to our clients now than when we were operating as two independent entities."
