Producing 1000 sets of Peugeot 206 parts a day by July and 500 sets of EF7 engines by September as well as localization of Peugeot 207i parts and reduction of imports form SAPCO's main planning for 2010.
Mohammad Mohammadi, SAPCO (Supplying Auto Parts Co.) CEO in this regard said, "In order to reduce foreign exchange intensity and create job opportunities, the company intends to reach 80 percent self-sufficiency in supplying parts."
Referring to IKCO's plan for doubling Peugeot 206 production to 193 thousand units per annum he said, "Achieving 97 percent self-sufficiency in 206 production is one of SAPCO's most important goals for 2010."
According to Mohammadi, SAPCO holds 9 percent of auto parts' global market share that should be increased through additional ambition and endeavor.
SAPCO is one of Iran Khodro Industrial Group's main subsidiaries and Iran's biggest auto parts supplier. It supplies parts and components for Samand, Soren, different models of Peugeot and other IKCO products.
SAPCO experienced 24 percent growth in supplying parts for various products of IKCO and has managed to localize 67 percent of the parts needed for the aforesaid products. The company also intends to chalk up the figure to 80 and 90 percent in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
