Environmentally friendly and incorporating contemporary design

Jeddah- Samsung Electronics, a leader in consumer electronics and digital media technologies; and their sole distributor in the Kingdom, United Matbouli Group, are set to debut their latest line-up of advanced LED HDTVs, LCD HDTVs and PDP HDTVs further bolstering Samsung's HDTVs range.

The televisions all feature ultra-high contrast ratios as well as slim depths that allow for more artful designs, plus increased energy savings. The Crystal TV design and slimness of the whole range enabled Samsung to reduce materials usage and extra production steps that require more energy.

Commenting at the event, Omar Siddiqui, Senior AV product manager, Samsung Electronics KSA: "Samsung is pleased to offer attractive Full HDTVs with great features and excellent picture quality". He added that: "At the heart of this breakthrough new line-up is the Samsung LED Engine. With the introduction of a new LED category of flat panel TVs, Samsung marks a transformative moment in the TV industry that revolutionizes the way consumers interact with and experience their TVs."

LED HDTVs: The new definition of television

This entirely new line-up of high-definition LED TVs represents the current pinnacle of technological leadership, fusing highly advanced technology and features with an artful, Ultra Slim design in an intelligent package that also reflects Samsung's profound concern for environmental sustainability. Cutting out the CCFL backlighting enabled Samsung to create TVs that are exceptionally slim while maintaining the highest standards consumers have come to expect from Samsung for outstanding picture quality. The Samsung LED Engine partners incredibly fast and efficient algorithms with Samsung's patented Ultra Clear Panel to render crisp, clear images with Mega Contrast, superb blacks, and a natural colour spectrum.

Lit by LEDs the Samsung 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series all meet the more stringent Energy Star® v3.0 guidelines by cutting power consumption to significantly new lows. Energy consumption is reduced by 40%+ versus traditional LCD HDTVs of similar size. The LED HDTVs also include an optimised energy savings mode that adjusts the backlight and picture quality while continuing to produce smoother, more natural images.

The new 6000 (available in 32'', 40'' and 46''), 7000 (available in 40'', 46'' and 55'') and 8000 (to be available in 55'' in the mid of 2009) LED Series build upon the success of Samsung's first and second generation LED HDTV models.

LCD HDTVs: The new definition of television

With the introduction of its new 2009 line-up of LCD flat panel TVs, Samsung seeks to continue the company's tradition of industry leading LCD technology and design excellence, while also stepping into uncharted territory with new features and advanced picture solutions.

The Series 7 is at the top-end of Samsung's first half line up for 2009 and includes 46 and 52-inch models. All two are built with Samsung's upgraded, award-winning Crystal TV design.

The standout feature of the new Series 7 is the 200Hz picture scan technology (200Hz Motion Plus), which produces the sharpest images for fast moving scenes. The outstandingly sharp and vivid images produced by these TVs are also driven by Samsung's Ultra Clear Panel and Wide Colour Enhancer 3, providing high contrasts, deeper blacks, and the broadest, most natural colour spectrum available.

Series 6 TVs, which come in a wide range of screen sizes, from 19 to 55-inches, also mark a considerable upgrade from previous models. The key difference here is an enhanced line-up of unrivalled media solution features, called Medi@2.0 that broaden the TVs' entertainment value and establish new ground in the LCD category by smoothly integrating the internet and various other media functions. Samsung's new widget service, Internet@TV, which is driven by the Yahoo! widget engine, enables users to take advantage of a wealth of information in unique overlays that are placed directly, yet unobtrusively, in front of TV images. The TVs are also shipped with a much improved Content Library Flash, which includes a diversified range of contents such as a picture gallery, games, cooking and fitness programmes. Users will also be able to download additional content and directly control it with write and delete functions. Both Series 6 and Series 7 come with a range of convenience and connectivity features, such as USB 2.0 Movie, DLNA Wireless, 4 HDMI connectors, and 2 USB ports, for quick and easy access to user-created or downloaded contents.

PDP HDTVs: A Cinematic Renaissance

Samsung's new 8 Series Plasma HDTVs create new space at the peak of PDP product offerings with a pair of exclusive premium grade TVs targeted towards discerning consumers who demand the highest performance possible for Full HD 1080p cinematic enjoyment in their own homes.

The 8 Series TVs, which come in 50 and 58-inch varieties, are marked by fast motion and image rendering, with exceptionally high dynamic contrast ratios and truly deep blacks. Despite their size, these sets are incredibly thin. Measuring just over one inch in depth, they are artfully produced in Samsung's newly upgraded Crystal TV design which enhances the sets' ultra slimness with a sleek and transparent surface that wraps around the bezel.

The outstanding picture quality is courtesy of Samsung's Crystal Full HD Engine and patented Ultra FilterBright™ Plus which manages the output images with a special black-coated color enhancement film to maximize contrast and minimize glare from ambient light in even the brightest of living rooms. Additionally, colors are rendered in the highest fidelity possible with the natural color spectrum through the company's patented Wide Color Enhancer 3.

In addition to their great looks and the rich image quality they produce, the 8 Series TVs offer a range of premium features and advanced functionality. Both are shipped with Samsung's new Medi@2.0 features, which allow users to bring the best of the internet to their TV. With a quick connection to the innovative Yahoo! Widget Engine, users can easily track their favorite stock and news tickers, as well as browse videos, share photos and interact with friends.

The TVs are also shipped with a much improved Content Library Flash, which includes a diversified range of contents such as a picture gallery, cooking and fitness programmes. Users will also be able to download additional content and directly control it with write and delete functions. Connectivity is also provided through USB 2.0 Movies, and 4 HDMI connectors, enabling the user to take advantage of high definition input signals from peripherals like Blu-Ray Disc players.

The 8 Series TVs are also the most eco-friendly plasma televisions available today, with highly efficient panels and intelligently managed power consumption features.
